We would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our new associate, James A. Bynum, M.D. He began working with us at A. Kagan Orthopedics & Sports Medicine on September 1, 2009.
James was raised in Burkburnett, TX and attended Burkburnett High School. He graduated summa cum laude from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. He attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies. During his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch, James published several peer-reviewed articles and received awards for both excellence in research and scoring in the 90th percentile on the nationwide orthopedic in-training examination. He then completed a one year sports medicine and arthroscopy fellowship at the Plano and Associated Orthopedics Sports Medicine Fellowship Program in Plano, TX where he conducted research on various techniques for arthroscopic rotator cuff and meniscus repair, as well as biomechanical studies comparing suture anchors commonly used in arthroscopic surgeries.
Dr. Bynum is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys fishing, hunting, and golf. He looks forward to being an active member in our community and we feel extremely fortunate to have him in our practice. Please feel free to begin sending patients to him as his clinic schedule is currently open.
